I’ve reached a ripe age
When I rant and rage
About pretty much all of the news,
I try to stay calm,
But with rising alarm
Everything shortens my fuse.

I read in a daze
Of airport delays,
Will I even make it to Spain?
Politics crumbles
Yet on it still rumbles
Leave? Or return? Or remain!

And heating my home
Well! that’s cut to the bone,
Thank goodness the summer is here,
The savings I’ve made
Went on petrol I paid,
Whilst prices keep rising, I fear.

All this doom-scrolling
This comment, this polling
I’ll just have to turn off my phone
So don’t call me up
You’ll be right out of luck
I’ll be sat in the garden at home.
